Issues
Jobs
I believe joblessness in Nevada is the most serious problem we face today; however, it is a problem with a solution.
Because small businesses are the largest job creators in the United States, we must help remove government roadblocks that thwart their success.
Economy
I believe you can spend your money better than the government can. Government spending is out of control and is punishing Nevadans who are already hurting.
We need policies that reward initiative and hard work rather than penalize it. One way to do that is to cut taxes.
Growing Deficit
I believe the federal deficit is one of the single biggest threats to America today.
Since 1996 the federal budget has doubled to 3.6 trillion dollars since 1996, raising our debt at an alarming rate. The deficit this year alone is estimated to be 1.4 trillion dollars, three times larger than any one-year deficit in the history of the country.
Health Care
I believe that, in order for the United States to remain the greatest and freest nation the world has ever known, we need to put the wellbeing of our citizens first.
While America has the best health care in the world, the health care system is broken and in need of repair.
Defending Freedom
I believe that our country has been the greatest force for freedom and democracy in history.
We safeguard these freedoms through the daily sacrifice, strength, and commitment of the men and women in uniform and with your support at home.
I was proud of my service as a Captain in the U.S. Army. I am even prouder of my daughter who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy.
Water Resources
I believe water is central to responsible land use and economic development in Nevada.
During modern times, we Nevadans have held the reins on ground water issues in our state.
I believe we must maintain and safeguard our control over the administration, use, and supply of this life-sustaining resource. It is essential to our economic, societal, and environmental future.
